2011 COB Weekend Info

The 2011 Carolina Olde Boys Weekend will be held Friday, October 7 through Sunday, October 9. Please note that this year's event will be a little different than in recent years.

Here is some information you need to know:

• The Annual COB/USC match will be played on Friday, Ocotober 7 at 8 p.m. at the Strom Thurmond Wellness Field. (Intramurals has the field earlier in the night). Please arrive no later than 7:30 p.m. so a side can be selected and we can start on time.
• COB Dues are $50.00 per year if received before October 1 and $75.00 if received after or on the day of the COB/USC match.
• COB Dues must be paid prior to the start of the COB/USC match in order to participate in said match and/or the football tailgate on Saturday. No exceptions!
• COB will host a pre-game tailgate on Saturday, October 8 beginning at 9:30 a.m. prior to the football game vs. Kentucky. You can look to park where it is most covenient for you, but the COB Tailgate will take place at Shuman Owens Supply Co.  located at 1080 Shop Road. (Come down Assembly Street toward the stadium; bear left at the light on Shop Road at the light where Assembly turns into George Rogers Blvd. Look for the big blue building immediately on the left directly across from The Gates condominiums.) 
• Make checks payable to C.O.B. and mail to COB, PO Box 2023, Columbia, SC 29202.
• Please wear a garnet or red shirt/jersey if you plan on playing in the COB/USC match.
• Please note that pets and alcohol are not permitted at the match site.   
  

Additional information:

• The Strom Thurmond Facility (location of the pitch) is located on the corner of Assembly Street and Blossom Streets (across from the old Carolina Coliseum. There is a large parking lot on Blossom Street across from The Strom.

• Make your hotel reservations early. Hotels fill up months in advance for home football weekends.   

COB ELECTIONS



Dear C.O.B.,

As per our charter, one position on the COB 501c3 non-profit board is up for election each year. This year's open position was for the office of treasurer. With the voting deadline expired, we are proud to announce that Butch Setster, '93, will serve as the board's treasurer, replacing John Hinks, '04.

C.O.B. would like to thank John for his service to the board the last three years.

Butch has served as Treasurer for the Palmetto Rugby Union for the last 3 years.
